Found my hen laying in the run this evening. She let me approach and pick her up which is not normal. She had a very messy rear end, green loose stool all over her feathers around her vent. She has lost weight, her keel bone is very prominent. My first thought is parasites......

I have safe guard fenbendazole liquid for goats. Should I try this and how/how much do I administer

So my hen is still alive. I gave her a dose of fenbendazole. She is eating and drinking but very little. We have scrambled her eggs as well as mixed her layer crumble in yogurt. My biggest concern right now is that her stool is still a very watery yellow. Is there anything more I can do for her??Or will things come around on their own?

Hi @LulaBell, how is your hen? Reading your first post I was thinking also of a blockage in her crop. Reading your second post I was thinking egg peritonitis.
Thank you for asking but unfortunately she did not make it. I’m still unsure of what was wrong. She was the only one in the flock sick. I did treat everyone with Corid to be on the safe side.
