We lost our salmon faverolle chick last night and now suddenly we are losing our cuckoo maran. I have no idea what's wrong. No signs of pasty butt...fresh water and feed available, clean bedding and heat lamp still on them.. What the heck..sighs.

Any help appreciated..

It's hard to say with so little information.

How are the chicks acting?
What are you using for bedding?
Where did you get the chicks? (ie: Hatchery, Breeder, etc.)
How old are they?

Sorry everyone..it's been a crazy week.. Temps were fine.. they were 2 weeks old.. temps were at 90... In the end we realized it was coccidosis.. how stupid of me not to remember this.. sighs. I saved two out of the six.. with cordi and poultry drench. I feel like.. well I won't say what I feel like..sighs..

We bought from a local breeder who also put her chicks on medicated feed and corid to be safe when I told her what I was going through. In the end we both agreed the weather the day we purchased them, probably put a lot of stress on them...it was pouring miserable out. I think that's why the original three got six.. the fourth I'll say I think she died of lonliness..couldn't get past the stress of losing the other chick she was so bonded to.

Our coop is almost finished for the chicks to move out into.. I think it will be easier for them out in their coop in a brooder box than in the house... I find myself checking their thermometer nonstop as my house easily gets *too* warm.. I am hoping to breathe easier when they are out there.
