HELP !!!!! Lost Chicken ***UPDATE***

The first day of free ranging in my securely (I thought) fenced backyard with our 18 6-week olds, and when it was bedtime there was only 17! After counting them about 4 times (they never hold still) we called and called. In a quiet moment, the neighbor boys called over the fence, "Hey, you guys lost a chicken?" The baby had gotten under the chicken wire, ran down and all the way across their yard and was hiding in their bushes. We would never have found her except for those nice neighbor boys who caught her and returned her. The next day I REALLY fixed the fence so it's chicken proof!

Next time you introduce or reintroduce a chicken to the flock, try waiting until after dark. Put the hen in, and in the morning, they'll look at her, and, go, oh, yeah, I remember you?............ Usually things are fine. As much as I love my chickens, they are not very bright.
