I believe my chicken is egg bound, but honestly not positive. She was laying everyday. Then just stopped. She hasn't moved around and is all fluffed up. I haven't seen her eat or drink. And her face is really warm to the touch. She also had a green and white diarrhea. I gave her a warm bath and lubed her vent. She looks like shes pushing but nothing is coming out. I have her in a warm place to relax. I gave her electrolytes and some crushed up tums. She has pooped and a little more solid but not great. Can someone help. Please. Opal is my baby!

Sorry your hen is having difficulties. When did she last lay? When did she stop eating? How's her crop, can you feel it first thing in the morning before she eats or drinks to see if it's empty? Can you post a picture of your girl free standing so we can see her posture and also a picture of a recent poo? How old is she?

3 days ago was last egg. Her crop is red , i haven't seen her eat. I forced her to drink with a syringe last night that had electrolytes and vitamins and calcium.

I don't know what you mean by her crop is red. It looks pretty full to me in these pictures, were those taken at night or in the morning? Her poop looks pretty normal there too. A chicken that is eggbound usually stands very upright, like a penguin and I'm not seeing that here. Can you feel between her legs starting just under her vent and moving toward her breastbone and see if you feel any hard lumps in that area like a stuck egg? She shouldn't need any more electrolytes, just fresh water. Offer her some of her regular feed mixed with water to make a mash or mush and see if she will eat that.

Did she stop eating before or after you separated her? Sometimes chickens won't eat if they are alone. Can you put her back with the others and keep an eye on her? Or if you want to keep her close can you bring in a friend for her?

I meant comb is red. Sry and I felt between her legs I thought I felt something but honestly not sure. Pictures were taking this morning. She did drink a little water herself but not much. And no food i tried mash and some scrambled eggs. She looked like she wanted to eat but didnt. I did massage her crop to see if that would help. Her face still feels hot. And shes under a year old.
