I checked my eggs on day 24. I was going to do lockdown on day 25. I could hear a baby peeping and pecking! I hurried and upped the humidity and that baby hatched the next day. (Yesterday). I heard another baby in its egg scratching around. It still has not pipped and I hear nothing. Did my baby die or is this normal? I'm keeping the humidity in the 70s and my hatched baby is still in the incubator. I am trying to keep the temp at 98 but it has dropped some to around 96 before I caught it. My incubator is being all wonky. I'm so worried!!

I'm sorry it took so long to reply.

Birds can be incredible at hatching in crazy conditions, however, your keets may need help. Cheep to the eggs and if there is no response, they may need assistance or they may have died. Don't chip in too soon, but if you are concerned, try opening a breathing hole where you think the beak is, than leaving them alone. If you do it too early there may be blood (small amounts shouldn't be harmful, if it comes from the membrane and not the chick).

Best of luck! I would love to see pictures of the keets!

Thank you so much for your reply. Still nothing on my other two that I know we're alive Monday. I am going to be taking the keet out tonight quickly and keep trying on the others!
