Help me and my problem?

Straw bales sound like a good plan. They would hold a tarp up too.

Also consider wood pallets. Search this site for pallet - and you will see a variety of structures made from pallets. Hardware gets expensive.

One last input from me.

I'm a parent, so to me, it is a big consideration how much care the child is giving to the pet. If the child really wants a pet and then leaves it to Mom to take care of it, then there will not be another pet unless it is something that Mom wants for herself.

So, the question is: have you always provided all the care, feeding and watering of the ducks without your parents having to remind you or nag you to do it?

Because if I had to provide the care of the ducks all summer and didn't want to take care of the ducks during the winter, I wouldn't be believing any promises that my child would be taking care of all the mud and frozen water and I know that I would end up doing it. So, if I didn't want to do it, the ducks would go.
