Thanks hippiehen! I might just go ahead and try both salts and see what happens. I only use sea salt, but i borrowed a little table salt from my dd. Will see what happens! Mine is a accu-rite, walmart, hang on the wall type thermo/hydrometer. Not an electronic one.

no wories we are all here to to learn ok since iddint find any salt with out idine i have tryed 2 difeerent things that i think have worked!!!!

1. get any type of cloth u could have there it could be a tawel a tshirt or just anything really sock itnto water then twisted till al water has come out then wrap it aroung the hygo it should read 97% and stay there after half hour!

2. seat yout hygrometer on a glass of regular top water make sure it seat tight let it seat there for half hour and it should read 100% i will pos a pic of this one that i found on spanish websites since all of the english gaveme the salt test..

both methods say that it could be off by 5% either low or hight but what a diference since i was incubatin at what i tho was 45% and really was 70%
and lockingdown with what i tho was 65% and really was 100% all my babys were fully form but couldnt make it

here a pic of the glass of water ccalibration example.

jcfuente51, Thanks for the post! Did you do both methods? How long do you leave it in the towel? Is it 1/2 hour? I did the salt test, but it only got up to about 66-67%. I'm doing the towel test now and will see what I get. This is really kinda stressful!!!
