This one has not damaged the feathers yet. The birds are still recovering from the last rooster.I understand your thoughts, and that you say you’ll cull if he’s a problem, but he’s already sounding like one. He’s damaging their feathers, right? Not great.
In the grand scheme he just sounds like a cockerel though. I can’t blame him.
As for DH….just go and list your reasons. Make a a powerful point, and counter his.
He literally just started mounting yesterday. It was his father that damaged the feathers. I've listed my reasons to my husband and he just grunts and says "I dont like him"I understand your thoughts, and that you say you’ll cull if he’s a problem, but he’s already sounding like one. I agree, if his dad was an a**hole he might literally follow in his footsteps. If he is the offspring of the aggressive rooster you got rid of, I wouldn’t keep him. He has the same genetics.
Why do you want to keep a rooster?
I personally love my rooster, I love the crowing 24/7/365 and he is a great protector. All the roosters I have had come from good genetics, nice, non-aggressive dads.
Technically he only has half of the same genetics...If he is the offspring of the aggressive rooster you got rid of, I wouldn’t keep him. He has the same genetics.
