I have a large metal 3 sided barn that I have been using for show rabbits. The front is covered with 2x4 wire with shade strips woven into alternating squares for sun protection. Last year my DH built an overhang across the front. I was thinking of closing in one section 4ft. X 6 ft Of the overhang for my d'Uccles since they will be under a roof but still have a yard. My dilemma is this:
A. Close in the 6x4 porch area and build a small hutch off the side with a roost and nestboxes
B. Close in a section inside the bunny barn directly behind the porch and place a roost and nestboxes. The space that is available is 6x9. So the total area would be a 4x6 covered run and a 6x9 area inside the barn
Basically it is hutch with run vs large walk in coop with small covered run. I need to decide ASAP since Spring break just started and this is my only time to do this. I have lumber and wire so materials is not an issue I am thinking of keeping a small flock of bantams I currently have 3 with an incubator ordered and 10 chicks ordered so you know chicken math. Here is a pic of the bunny barn last spring when DH built the overhang the section I am talking about is on the left
