Help me decide what to do...story & questions

I believe the original question was posed as a 'moral' issue, not a 'legal' issue. And that being said.... let's see you spend that million dollars the bank accidentally credited to your account. I'm pretty sure that WHEN the bank takes you to court to recover the money, the judge will rule that as you normally carry a balance of 2000.00 dollars in your account, you knew when you saw a balance of 1,002,000.00, it was an obvious error, and the money was not yours to spend.

I agree about the original post and I believe I replied to the original post with an opinion that spoke to the scenario. There were lots of subsequent posts that I also addressed. As for morality, that is something only the individual can regulate. As for the scenario of the money, I never said that if the money was deposited in your account that it was yours. I stated that you were not obligated to say anything about it. On a side note, the court would NOT make me return any earned portion of said deposit. ie, if I moved the $1,000,000 to another institution and earned interest. As this relates to the OP, if the true owner of the said chicken showed up at the OP's house and asked for their chicken back, they would more than likely be required to return the property to the owner. Although a court may find for reasonable expenses due to the OP if requested. Since that was not the scenario, that is not what I commented on.
