That is so funny! I had to order a minimum of 8 from MPC and only wanted to keep five!!! I ordered the ones I really wanted, 2 Blue Andalusians, 1 White Rock and decided get EEs for the rest. I did want at least one EE, though. Originally, I was going to only keep 4, but we lost a hen to Marek's recently, so I decided to keep five. A family friend said they would buy 3 from us, otherwise, I was going to Craigslist the others, which I am glad I didn't have to do. Anyhoo, I am keeping the 3 girls for our friends until they are old enough to be without heat, and I am glad I hung onto them. They are 4 weeks old now, and as some one else mentioned, their personalities are really coming out. I ended up changing my mind about which ones I was going to sell.( they don't care which EEs they get) One of the ones that I was going to give them, has turned out to be my most social, and one of my most favorites. If it were me, I would also wait to see what their personalities are like. EE are supposed to be really sweet, but two of mine arent very friendly yet. ( one is going to friends, I am keeping the other one because she is a very pretty red and white). My BAs have actually been pretty social, surprisingly, but my White Rock has not.( I had read that WR are pretty easy going). I really think each chicken is an individual, though certain breeds do have certain traits. I also think that waiting until they don't need heat may make it easier to find new homes, or at least you wouldn't have to worry about them going to a home where they may or may be in a warm enough environement. ( I would keep all of them if I could, just don't have the space either)
