We are in the process of building a new coop! The foundation and posts have been cemented in. The footprint of the coop and run is 6' x 16', with plans for an elevated 6' x 8' coop, so that the available run space will be the whole 96 sq.ft. I currently have 4 hens, but the plan is to increase to as many as 8, probably next spring. We are building the run at 6-7ft so that we can walk in.
So, what ideas do you have for the layout of the interior of the coop itself? How many nest spaces, number and length/height/placement of roosts, etc? The height of the interior of the coop should be 4-5 ft (sloping roof).
