Today I received three new chicks from Tractor Supply and I am quite clueless as to what breed they are. I was told they were Red Production, but I've heard that is a really vague term since several breeds could be considered as such. I need some help :)

She (I hope it's a she!) is absolutely my favorite <3

The babe is even spreading out her wings! :D

I love all of them so much... I doubt I will be able to stop myself from buying a few more!

Thank you!

Okay! Thank you for clearing that up :D I was just a bit curious since I looked up pictures of Production Red chicks and they didn't quite look like this.

Here's a photo of a Production Red. I just don't feel they look like this.

Here's another Production Red. The chicks I have have almost completely white wings and have a definite distinction between the brown and white on their bodies with no in between colors. Maybe this will change when they get older? :)

Thank you! I guess I will just have to see what they turn out to look like when they get older (:

Idk the chicks kinda look like a production red. But they have white on their wings, well good luck figuring out their breed.
Production Red *IS* their breed (if what the store sign said they are is correct). You probably will never know which two breeds were crossed to come up with your particular strain of the Production Red breed.

Oh bummer. I wish I knew exactly which breeds were crossed, but oh well! That won't make me love them less :) thanks again.

I believe that I have a Production Red, at least that's what some people have said about her, I rescued the chick when she was about 2-3 weeks old, so I really don't know.

Here she is when I first got her 2-3 weeks old

This is her now, about 4-5 weeks old
