A new kitten is in the house and Boo Cat has some rules to lay down. Hopefully she'll accept June sooner than later. June could eventually be a good playmate for her!
That's such good news about June! About how old do you think she is?
I think she is around 7 to 8 weeks. Her eyes were blue when found, but have changed to a golden color.

She looks so tiny in the picture.

It's crazy how many animals, especially cats, get dumped off in the country.. only to become someone else's burden. But there are the upsides when there's mice & rats.

My cousin, who passed away early this year, always had cats on their dairy. People would drop off cats all the time... as if that was the thing to do. Their front door never locked and sometimes you could push it open but one day, years ago, my cousin saw a cat leave her bathroom and run outside. She thought it was just a random occurrence until one day she walked by the bathroom and the same cat was using the toilet.
They kept the cat

Years ago, I was renting a house that had a trap door to the attic in the master bathroom. Someone didn't close the trap door well apparently, because I had leaned over the sink to wash my face, and 3 tiny kittens fell out right on top of me! The mama was fit to be tied. Fortunately, my daughter, who fears nothing, helped me gather them all up into a box, and slide them back in the attic. We had no idea how mama got into the attic, or out. A few weeks later, she and the kittens were running around the neighborhood. We managed to make a pet of one and rehome it. The rest were crazy wild.

Wow! Hahaha cats can fit into the strangest small spaces! Always baffles me how they get stuck in some places. Once they get in, do they know how to get out? I've found a couple kittend in my car over the years.
I've tried raising a couple feral kittens but they can be so wild! I raised one, after mom cat got hit by a car, but she was so wild I had to surrender her after a year.

Ruby may have been an "only dog" since Dexter, but she had you and the family as her "pack" , and Bruce, to Ruby, is an interloper. He's not part of her pack, and she feels he doesn't belong there.

Probably, in time, if you are a strong pack leader, she will see Bruce is accepted by you and she'll come to accept him.
Just take it slow, sometimes it can take six months to a year for dogs to accept each other.

Updated pictures of the pack/gang.
The cats' tree was reupholstered by my very talented, daughter, Marsha. June (kitten) & Boo took a few minutes to warm up to the improvement.
