Help me figure out the breed and whether or not it’s a hen or roo?

This is my almost 5 week old surprise chick from Murray Mcmurray hatchery.

Wondering what breed they are? Cochin? BCM? Langshan?

Im hopeful they are a hen but I’m guessing they may be a roo?

Thanks in advance! I’ve included Picts from today and one from the early chick days!

It is a cockerel. It's not a Langshan or Marans because the feet are yellow, not white. Maybe an olive egger, or maybe a Cochin.
Thank you for your reply. His legs are a a black grey colour but the feet are a pinky / yellowish colour. Any chance that could still change over time?

I’m a little stumped by this one as it feels like they don’t have the same amount of feathers on their legs/feet that google shows me a Cochin has at this age and doesn’t seem like the picts of what the hatchery shows for their olive eggers but maybe that will change soon!

Hopefully it’ll be more clear over time.

The leg color very well could change. I had a chick I hatched that had very cartoonish yellow legs when he was a baby and now he has very pale, almost white, legs.

Time will tell, yes. Which hatchery was it?

As for leg color, at that one's age I do not think it will change. Hatcheries are known for producing birds that sometimes don't match standards. They are also known for creating hybrids willy nilly and then giving them fancy brand names when they are really just mixed breeds.

Thank you. It was Murray McMurray and it was a surprise chick so who knows!

I’m curious to see how he grows!

I’ll post an update in a few weeks
