Help me get chickens in Pawnee, IL

I am working to approach our village board to allow backyard hens in Pawnee, IL. If you are intereseted in this, let's work together. Any ideas on how to deal with a "Small Town U.S.A." village board would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I just read your post from 08/23/11. I live in Pawnee il. I am very interested in raising chickens but I was told by the lady at the village office they aren't allowed. It's rural America and I can't have chickens? That's crazy. Did you ever get anywhere with this or go ahead and do it anyway? I'd love to hear from you.
