New time chicken tender. I have 12 chicks I got from a friend, mixed breed.
Trying to figure out who is what. They're about 7-8 weeks old.
Tiny Meep is about 2 weeks younger than the rest.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Bump and meep are your only pullets.
I've been so worried about having to choose between Pig and Peck. I have 12 total. I'll have to snag photos of the others on a more cooperative day.

What are you choosing them for?
I've read a lot of chicken math saying one rooster to 10 hens? Seeming like I may have far more males than anticipated. They're friendly with each other, is it possible for them to co exist? Sorry for so many questions, have only had chicks for a few weeks, learning much.

It's hard to say until those first hormones come in around 17 weeks. It also depends on them personally. If they're being 'friendly' or 'cuddly to you, I recommend ignoring them or getting rid of them.
That's usually a sign that they could become aggressive to you later. I actually recommend you not having a rooster at all until you have more experience, they aren't just male chickens, they're another animal entirely.
1-10 is to ensure fertility and hopefully not having the hens over mated, but every rooster is different.

Wow, so much information! Thank you so much. Peck is EXTREMELY cuddly and has cost me an ER visit, pecked my eye ball last week resulting in corneal tear.. I'll have to do more rooster investigating before deciding my next move I suppose.
