HELP ME! I will bite my whole arm off....

I am going crazy waiting. It is Thursday and I am getting some new chicks on Saturday. I'm thinking

2 X blue araucana
1 X Silver spangled hamburg
1 X Rhode island red

And maybe a brown leghorn.

They are all still under a week old and I have literally bitten all my fingernails off and have started on my arm!

Will these breeds get along well with each other? I've heard hamburgs can be flighty, but maybe the problem can be combatted if they are handled a lot as chicks?

Hamburgs AND Brown Leghorns can be flighty birds...just an FYI. If you want chickens that will meet you at your door looking for handouts and not launch when you sneeze...then you might want to rethink these 2 breeds...but its all a matter of taste! Hamburgs are Lovely to look at.

The RIRs, I also learnt can be sgressive. Are they easier/quicker to sex? I just don't want to wind up with a rooster. I suppose just choose the smallest, right?

It will be harder to care for your new chicks without your arm. I am going to tell you to put hot sauce on your hards and arm, before you bite them off.
