Help me ID this water bird

Hi yall

this one has me stumped,I've looked in a couple of field guides with no luck.

It's been hanging out with the wood ducks, little cutie pie.

not the best pics, it was late in the evening. I noticed the feet weren't webbed,so maybe some type of wading bird????

I'm trying to keep a list of different migrating birds I come across this year.
I've seen some coots here but they were way smaller than this one. I had no idea they didn't have webbed feet.

LOL! You guys say "Oh...a coot" and I think they're pretty cool looking! lol! I've never seen one that I know of. Once I saw your pic I knew I had to figure out what it was. Thanks for posting the picture!
