I noticed my girl limping and checked her out. I thought she had bumblefoot. I read soak 10min in warm water with Epsom salt. I am hopeful it softens a bit so I can pop off the scab. I can't use a scalpel. I have tremors and it wouldn't be safe for either one of us. It's not red or swollen but she seemed a bit off. I picked her up. Gave her a check and bumblefoot on both. She's laying alot and not walking. Not herself. I will continue soaking her feet daily. Until I can remove safely. Would it hurt if I just pulled it off? HELP..
I can clean and debried after scab is gone and treat with antibiotics.. I have removed the scabs. They fell off. No plugs. Not hard. Treated with VetRx and sprayed Vetricyn. Wrapped and used the salve. No puss. I started giving her electrolytes in water. She's eating. Not laying but alot of them aren't it's been hot here. She's not moulting or picking feathers. Comb and wattle red. Eyes clear. No mites of lice
Not egg bound. This has been going on for about 5 days. Her tail feathers were drooping. This afternoon she walked around the yard a bit this afternoon, ate watermelon and then layed in the yard until bedtime. Her tailfeathers were perked up. Maybe electrolytes are helping? If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I'm stumped.

At two years old and being a Red Star = production hybrid she is probably exhausted from laying constantly and start of molt.

Her feet do not look inflamed which makes me think that her limping and laying down so often might be linked to lack of calcium, vitamins and maybe even some kind of reproductive disorder that production hybrids often succumb to after two years of age.

When did you last deworm and what did you use?

Is it her left leg that she appears to favor?

Her bumblefoot does not look serious at all. I would just soak her foot daily, and apply either a paste of sugardine (a few drops of Betadine solution mixed with a lot of sugar,) or Prid drawing salve. Apply a 2x2 bandage over those and change it daily or every other day. I think something else is going on with her, but molting can be very hard on hens. Make sure that she is eating a balanced chicken feed, and offer a small bit of egg for a treat.

Honestly, I think it was her left. But she's no longer limping. I have not dewormed them. I give them ACV and gave her electrolytes. I've not seen worms in her poo. She also gets cucumbers. I treat nesting boxes and coop floor as well as their dirt baths with DE.
