Hi All,

I have a 1.5 year old leghorn hen who has bumblefoot (starting treatment with a soak/scab removal/ointment tonight) and a lump on her thigh on the same leg. I’m not sure which one came first, I just noticed them yesterday.

I also noticed on top of her comb she has black spots that I think are scabs, and on the bottom where it’s folded over is white. None of my other hens have any of these issues, but they all have much smaller combs.

I’m not sure if this is one big issue or 2-3 smaller ones. She’s eating/drinking/moving around without issue. I added four pictures so hopefully you can see all of them.

I believe the stuff on the comb is normal for chickens with larger combs, and not much of a concern because I see it in my chickens.

For the bumble foot, I had a duck who had it, and we operated on her foot with a scalpel and removed the infected tissue, and let her heal and rest in a inclosed space with medicine and a foot wrap for a week or two.

I’ve never seen anything like a thigh bump though, I hope someone who knows more can help you :)

I looked up the thigh lump and it might be some kind of tumor.

Glad to hear the comb is a non issue! The bumblefoot was worse than I hoped, so I’m hoping soaking, PRID, and wrapping it will heal it soon. Thanks!
