We have a flock of 28 all 10 weeks old. How many roosters can safely cohabitate? I got the ornamental layer collection at McMurray and it has been 10 weeks, so I'm hoping you guys can help me identify my little motley crew!

Chicken #1:
My favorite (of course) I fear is a Roo, but say it ain't so. Here are some pics. His/her legs are greenish... so what say you? My guess is Roo and an Easter Egger? By the way her name is Cheetah....

Here is a better pic of his/her face (I swear of this is a boy we are running away together... my poor husband).

Chicken #2
Don't hate me because I named him/her "Ugli" she/he seriously was the ugliest chick I have ever seen.... Breed? Gender? This one was my "special free rare chick"... It looks to me like something got in the wrong hen house...

This one is SO skiddish...

Chicken #3
Introducing Honey... I'm fairly sure she's a girl... But have no idea of her breed?

Chicken #4
Here is my little Chimpunk. Fairly sure she's a girl, have no idea of her breed...

Chickens #5-7
"The Three Amigas" I'm guessing Red Comets?

Chicken #8
Sadly I haven't given her a name yet. Doesn't have any traits that have "stood out" yet... Breed?

Chicken #9
"Big Red"
Rhode Island Red? Oh and EXTRA points for anyone that can identify the chicken hawk looking one in the foreground. I have like 5 of those guys and they scare the heck out of me. They just have murderous eyes and LONG eerie hawk necks...

I have a few more chickens with questions, but if I don't let them out to free-range right now, they'll be livid. So, I'll post more later. Any help at all, will be so much appreciated!

Not positive on any of these, but this should help:

1. Quite possibly a buttercup (NOT an EE). Does she have white earlobes?

2. Absolutely not sure. Possibly a Marans?

3. Buff Plymouth rock (legs are wrong for orp)

4. Some sort of game? No idea.

5. Golden comets/red sexlinks

8. Welsummer

9. RIR

Extra credit: Any red on the birds chest? Were they white and black as babies? If so, what color are the bottoms of the feet. I'm guessing Australorps.

Yeah, it's hard to tell if that's some random feathers in front of the comb (what it looked like to me) or actual coloring. And hatchery birds vary so much, I know there are a few australorps floating around with dark combs. OP said he has a bunch of them, so I'm guessing it's nothign all that rare which is why I also thought sexlink. Not much comb though for a bsl. Hmmmm.

Do campines have cup combs? I was thinking single for them. Off to look.... (I love learning the breeds).

Good catch - everything else looks Campine - unpure bloodline maybe?

Oh my the Golden Campine roos are very pretty! I love my chickens, but have such a variety that I can't even tell what the hatchery really sent as the "Special chick" and which ones were the packing peanuts! I am having lots of fun trying to figure out what they are!

I would guess that 4 is your random chick. I'm no guru, but I at least had guesses on the others fairly easily. She has me completely stumped. There are lots of game experts around though, they'll help you out (or pronounce me wrong, which would still help LOL).
