Help me identify my packing peanuts! Updated photo in 1st post

I am curious to see, I don't know if I would agree with RIR. Wait a little while longer and post again with new pictures. There is something about the head that makes me think Cornish (not the meaties).

I just got my NH red chicks, and the chick in this pic has darker wing tips.

But I'm a newbie

Okay, I figured for sure that 'he' was a he since it was free. I have posted an updated photo on my first post now that he is a little older.

I am far from an expert so I hesitate to argue with some of you guys but my New Hamp didn't have white tips to her wing feathers; my Speckled Sussex did, but also had spots elsewhere.

I agree that it's probably a rooster though, look at the size of the legs and comb at one week.

Good luck, I hope you get to keep him.

Yeah, I have no doubt its a roo. If he turns out to be a good breed I might keep him. He arrived with 4 of his brothers and may process them all or keep just one. If do that I will split the 12 girls I ordered between him and my EE roo. That leaves the original 20 girls with my NN roo....... (okay, where do I sign up for the 12 step chicken addiction program?).

I would say it looks like a RIR, or even New Hampshire. Adna is right, they dont have white spots. But depending on the breeding, some might! lol And sometimes those spots do molt out after the chick grows up a bit. But I am 95% positive its a rooster. Not sure if that is good or bad for you. =/ But he is cute!
