OK. I got bit by the chick bug at TSC and brought home 6 chicks to join the 9 the just hatched. One can never have too many, right?

I brought home 4 silkies, they were easy to identify, furry legs and 5 toes. One little runt that I felt sorry for. It only lived a few hours more but at least it was safe and not being stomped on and kicked around. It was so small that it couldn't even reach over the lip of the waterer. It would get knocked over and then couldn't get up on its own. I just couldn't leave it there

And the mystery chick. It is adorable, the only there that looked like this. Can anyone tell me what it is? It looks like it has a top knot, like a silky, but not enough toes. It was soooo cute (aren't they all) I had to buy it. Whatever it is, it walks around like it is the boss.

Are polish bantams? I didn't mention that it was in the bantam bin. It looks like it is wearing a fur cap, I just fell in love with it. They just got the order in today, but there was only one like this one. It will be fun to watch it grow up. Of course, like everyone else, I hope it isn't a roo. I have 2 roos and they get along ok, but I'm not one for rocking the boat with introducing anymore. They have been together since they were chicks so I guess they worked out their differences before they were old enough to do much damage. Plus they free range all day so they have lots of room to roam.

Yah, I would say Polish too. And yes they come in Bantams, I think they only come in Bantam, but I could definitely be wrong.

I'm not an expert, but according to my google results -- Polish are one of the 16 most popular bantams

But in a TSC bin you never really know coz people can swap the chicks around any time. I can pick the banties out when they are among the LF chicks (I don't want them) so I would assume that a LF among banties would stand out awkwardly too.

Ahh, that would explain why my two week old Polish is so much smaller than my Dorking of the same age.

Well now I will have to keep an eye out at TSC for another one. I hate having 1 of anything
