Help me identify this injured wild duck that tried to get in with my flock

its a grebe i dont think they are a species of duck eather but i know they eat fish

That's a pied billed grebe and they do fly and sometimes migrate in some areas. However, they are rarely out of the water when they're not flying unless something's wrong with them. They aren't good walkers on land and cant take off from the ground. They like fish and crayfish mostly. I don't think they would even eat grain at all.
