....ooh yeah....we were up all night with him last night!...

...had the crate in between us in the bed...LOL....so he didnt feel so scared being away from mom and siblings his first night away from them...its hard because its SO cold here in Mass....and he's still such a baby....i have been using a puppy pad in the bathroom for him to go potty on...BUT..i dont want to do this because i think it will confuse his potty training..

..BUT..when we tried(several times) to bring him outside to potty..he just huddled at our feet freezing....so...hence the puppy pee pads in the bathroom....
he.gif
...should i just have him go outside?....or is to cold for a young pup this time of year?....

Yay! I'm so glad you chose Oliver Paine! He looks like an Oliver too....I really didn't want to hand him back to your hubby!

I could have just snuggled him in my vest.....

I brought Harley along just in case you were there to meet him. He wanted to give the boys hugs

He is seriously young...I think you may get stuck with the puppy pads for a couple of weeks. Then just bring the puppy pad outside with you. That way he'll be off the snow and get used to peeing outside.

I can't believe you guys slept with a crate between you...I've told you this before, but that man is smitten! Not many men would sleep with a dog crate...or drive 16hrs in a snowstorm for a dog...make that his wife

and I saw he pic of the three buff ones the one on the left looks like it is mixed with a Great Dane, something in the head shape is very different to a Mastiff.

The one on the left was the offspring of the other two -she was pictured at 7 1/2 months -she was the "pick" grump puppy but she turned out to be the best pet!
Her head has really matured now- she'll be 2 in April.
Her movement was not very fluid either. But most of her movement now is on & off her lounger!

Hi bwebb7,

Sorry I did not mean any offence in this, and it must have been her age.

She just looked so gaunt compared to a mastiff, but as she was so young I can understand. Her head looked much more like a Great Dane, very slender. But they are lovely dogs, all 3.

Jena.

Wow he looks really young. How old is he? I have a male english mastiff that is brendal also. But when he came home he didn't look so babish. Where did you get him? Did you go through a breeder?

Anyway I named mine Hulk Hogan after the love of my life. My next mastiff is going to be named Randy MachoMan Savage, jimmy superfly snuka, or andre the giant, or rick flair, or Kane, or the peoples champion, or somthing related to those beefy wrestlers on tv

Oh I love the name Gunther, and Murdoch is a good one too!!

We have a Mastiff, a Cane Corso, (Italian Mastiff) He is the smartest dog we have ever had!! We just talk to him and he understands what we are saying. The other day I couldn't find one of my shoes. My husband said, "Spartacus is good at finding things, ask him to find your shoe. "

He called Spartacus to him, and said "Go see what mama wants." Spartacus came to the door way, I showed him I only had one shoe, told him to find the other one, he went right into the livingroom, and put his head down to show me my shoe was under a lamp table.. I couldn't see it when I was looking in that room!

Mastiffs are great dogs!! Spartacus loves to play frisbee, many times he attempts to catch it in his paws!! Such a silly boy!!

This is one of my favorite pictures of him and my husband.

it was just a fluke that it turned out the way it did. Rich was standing way back in the backyard, and I was trying to get a photo of Spartacus running toward me with his lips flapping!! When I downloaded the photo it was funny to see my husband looking like he was on Spartacus' back flying through the air.

Here is a better photo of how handsome a fellow he is...

Since I am his breeder i can answer this. English Mastiffs come in 3 colors, brindle, fawn, and Apricot (red). His father is ready to start his AKC show career and he is the same color, this dog is NOT a mix.
