I am going to be putting together a new coop kit I bought and painting it. My 4 year old autistic daughter has her heart set on me painting it purple, which is her favorite color. Although I hate the idea of painting anything purple, like any dad, I can't disappoint her. So my problem is what color to match with purple. The only color I can think of that usually goes with purple is pink, and I just don't think I can bring myself to do it. So does anyone have any ideas on what other colors to try to two tone with the purple? Here is a picture of what the completed coop looks like to give you an idea:

If you are doing a deep purple orange goes good with it, also white or a teal color would be pretty

I'm not a fan of white because it shows dirt so easily, but teal shows interesting. Gonna have to google that combo.

I have always like it together, hope it turns out for you, cant wait to see what you choose and how it looks

Seems like of the choices available you could either harmonize with the purple, or contrast it...I'd go with a paler shade of the purple in the same hue...like a lavender. Remember, there is ten thousand shades of purple - check out the Martha Stewart color palette, they have some great colors. Even a slate grey would compliment purple. (Purple is the new brown...your daughter has talent) :-)

I was thinking two shades of purple too. Check out the Eggplant Coop, they did a beautiful job using purple.

Another designer trick is to incorporate one color of your existing palette into the new designs, say for instance, Your house has a green theme, ue that green to paint the eaves along the roof and around the door, then paint the door a deeper color...it will look intentional. Loads of options.
