Help me sex my muscovy!

For me still too young to say but females can get bity too so that doesn't necessarily mean drake just because it's bity. Just means it is acting out. lol Do you have any young ducks Lucky can socialize with?
I actually like the idea of sterile ducks best way to keep them from over populating and mixes are nice breeds. I've seen some gorgeous mixes of Muscovy's with other breeds.

Unfortunately not this duckling was a rescue, my ducks are older but not laying yet. Was hoping to hatch some eggs.

I remember Lucky was a rescue just couldn't remember if you had any younger ducks Lucky could hang out with. Maybe a mirror would help Lucky associate with another duckling. They do seem to work for company.

I will have to try that, Lucky is now 4 weeks old, hopefully in a month's time i can move her outside with the others. We do bring her outside when we can to play, but have noticed a hawk flying in circles above the house sometimes, so want to make sure she is big enough before the move from garage to duck house

Miracle is so cute, such a lucky duck to have you! I do think it's a little early to tell the gender.
My question is, how do you know it's a muscovy? (Sorry, I'm not really a duck expert.)

Hello everyone! i recently rescued this baby from a park where she was drowning, she must’ve been dumped because there was no mamma or other babies. I have 3 other ducks and only one is a female so i’m praying she’s another female! she is showing male characteristics though, she has a mohawk like male muscovys, do females have that as well? she also does the head bobbing like males do. she still peeps so i can’t determine by her voice.
All mine do the head bob.. It isn't limited to my drakes. give it time.. the red will appear or it wont.. My boys only have a mohawk when they are upset or excited.

here’s miracle today, she’s already grown a lot! she’s a little sick, she’s been breathing loudly and has some boogers. i gave her a splash of apple cider vinager in her water to hopefully make it better because vets won’t be open until monday.

Put at least 1-2 Tabs in her gal water. so she can duck her head in it and help kill some bacteria that maybe in her nares.

Miracle is adorable.

What about ventilation does her coop have it? very important because their dropping can create ammonia and breathing it in isn't good at all for their respiratory system.

If she is in the house and your using heat since it's fall you might want to run a humidifier in the room she is in, Not right over her but just to keep the room air a bit moist. You can put some Vet RX in it too and also use it over her nares just a swipe it works like vicks rub. [you don't want the VetRX going down into her nares just swipe some across the outside to help her breathe.]

Thanks so much, she lives in our house at the moment. my other ducks currently live at my grandmothers and i don’t think i want to mix miracle with them. they would pick on her and we read that since we raised her alone we shouldn’t add her to the flock. she is gonna be an indoor duck. her cage gets changed at least once a day, sometimes more depending on how much she pottys. i will get her a humidifier. we ordered her a diaper so she can run around the house. :D
