I made a bet with a friend about a scene from "Dances With Wolves" I've looked everywhere, but can't find the answer, so thought somebody here my know.

In the scene from the buffalo hunt, what part of the buffalo does Kevin Costner eat raw????

At the close of the buffalo hunt, Wind in his Hair cuts out the liver of the buffalo, holding it in two hands. He stands to take a bite out of it and it's already about half its previous size. When he hands it to John Dunbar, it shrinks dramatically in size again, and is a different colour and shape.

Thanks for the replies - I googled it and found answers of liver, heart, and tongue, but nothing definitive. Drat !!

Someone in my house who has watched this movie 4,859,234 times says it is definitely the liver ...because of the shape.

Hubby and I were talking about it this morning. I too googled and couldnt come up with the answer. Some places said liver, others said heart. I wonder if it was the liver, but meant to represent the heart. Many cultures eat the raw heart of freshly killed game, as a way to "gain strength from the animal".
