Because we all need to spend more money... I thought you could help me list some essential chicken keeping supplies. I'm taking a trip to our local feed store this weekend so I thought I might as well stock up in case of emergency. Our family grew up kind of cheap so we used to only keep basic supplies so I don't know everything to use for wounds and sicknesses.
I already have:
1. Chick grit
2. Tub for bathing chickens and Epsom salts
3. Electrolytes and probiotics for the flock and sick hens
4. Probiotics and apple cider vinegar for chicks
5. Feeders and waterers of different types and sizes
6. Straw and shavings for the nesting boxes and the brooder
7. Feed and treats of course
8. Calcium Citrate + D3 tablets
What I have on my list so far:
1. Oyster shell (we just ran out)
2. Ointment for wounds or plucked feathers
What I would like to add to my list:
1. Anything I forgot or don't know about
2. What you like to use with your flock!
Please give me some advice on what products and supplies you like to have on hand for your chickens. It would be helpful if you could list what is is, brand name if you have a favorite brand for the product, and what it does/how it helps the hens. Thank you in advance!
