My chicken is bleeding.....I think its because my rooster pecks at her.....she is OK but.....why is he pecking at her and making her bleed.....we have moles in our backyard....could it be that??? Or is there an insect biting my chickens one by one??

Folks may need more information or pictures to really be of much help. How old is your chicken and the others it is with? What type of enclosure is she in? White climate/part of the world are you in? Anything else that may help understand the situation and be relevant could help. Hopefully we can get this figured out for ya. ;-)

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us. I would suggest not returning your injured chicken until her wounds are fully healed as the sight of blood seems to encourage further aggression.

Good luck

Glad you joined us! Remove the rooster, permanently if the pecking was
malicious. Antibiotic cream or spray on the wound (one without added painkillers!) should take care of it and isolate the hen until she has healed up, or keep an eye on the rest of the flock. As the above posters said, chickens are drawn to and will peck at red things, such as wounds. Good luck!
