Help! MEAN chicks!! *edit w video*

Yeah, more room would probably help a lot. I would probably look for a humungous card board box to give them added room. In fact, in the past, I've scooted the cage up to a giant cardboard box, cut a door in the box where the door to the cage is and, then, opened the cage so they could go into the box and back into the cage as they wished. It worked great. Might try that!

THey need a bit more room; females also act this way, I've had several in the past that spar like this, so they're not necessarily cockerels. Good luck!

I know its normal, but who want all that stress. They are too young for outdoors. I would just seperate them and make your house more peaceful.
Great Video

Yep. Also, nothing says that meanies = cockerels. Pullets can be just as fiesty setting up the pecking order.

More space would be good. Regarding outside... If you have proper accommodations, they can be outside from day one. My week old chicks were outside in a 2x4 or 4x4 outdoor brooder with a dirt floor and two 100W bulbs when it was snowing. Just keep them warm enough and they can do just fine outside.

Looks like an organized cock-fighting training camp right there in Georgia!!!!!!!!!

Did you TRAIN them to fight?

LOL! Seriously, you need to give them a bigger pen to spread out. They get bored and then------ well, you see what roosters do when they are bored.

My 5 McMurray RIR pullets were very feisty and picked on everyone. I sold them at 15 weeks to restore peace to the hen house. They were terrible! I'll never have hatchery RIR's again.
