How do you prevent mice from hanging out in your chicken coop? I want to stop this problem before it gets any worse. Thanks so much for your help.

Plant a lot of mints around the coop, and mint herbs scattered all over coop and nesting boxes. Mice hate mints, I guess they can’t stand them. Also traps around the feed storage.

I read about this mouse trap. Take a large mixing bowl. Pour a few inches of peanut oil in the bottom. Put it in your feed room. Apparently they jump in and can't get out.

The above two traps work well. If you want a foolproof version buy a “walk the plank” trap (or try your hand at making it). Also lock your feed bags up tight and bring feeders in at night. Not sure what your coop/run looks like but getting rid of cozy dark corners and holes helps.. any place you suspect they could be setting up shop. Easier said than done if it’s an old repurposed barn or shed.

I trap them with snap traps and bucket traps like Hokum Coco posted.
When those 2 both fail and I see fresh mouse leavings I resort to poison.

With the above bucket trap, I like to put a little peanut butter on the bottle. Also I put about 4" of water with antifreeze for winter in the bucket to drown them.
