HELP!! MITES!!

These mites are microscopic little grey straight lines like 1mm. Crawling on me after being in coop or petting my chickens. even one in in my massive thick hair😳 enough to drive you crazy. A shower is the only thing to know it's gone! Is this normal? I don't want to hang out with them🤔 now or stay in the coop long. It's a nice old wooden coop with metal roof. Daily maintenance doesn't change a thing? Any ideas what could remedy this and make possible to love on my chicky babies again without fear

No, that is not normal. Where in general are you located? You'll likely need to treat your chickens and coop with a permethrin dust or spray to get rid of them.

I cleaned and treating everything I could. I bathed all the chickens. My sick hen who has the most still had them after her first bath and so I gave her a second bath sprayed her down and dusted her with the dust treatment. It said I could apply to hens. Since she hasn’t been feeling good she didn’t want to walk after the baths and she fell asleep wrapped in the towel. She layed in the dirt in the run and dint go to the roost when it turned night so I put her in one of the nesting boxes to sleep. I think she’s just sore and hopefully perks up a bit in a couple days. I’m gonna soak her in some epson salt to, she liked it a couple weeks ago.

Update: sadly last night my sick hen passed away in her sleep. She had a flea liquid draining either from her nose or beak. I had a slight feeling soemthing was wrong last night. Did I stress her out to much? Or was it time

I am very very sorry about your loss, it might have been a little bit of stress, but most of the times if the water was warm, it calmed her down and relaxed them to the point if there sick they will be so relaxed there body will stop... It probably also was her time, if something was draining then her time was just around the corner, but I dont think the bath helped her either... Again very sorry.

Thank you. When she was wrapped in the towel to dry she kept falling alseep.

Aw, happend with my hen too, although she was very sick. You are lucky your hen went a easy ish way, most die to being eaten or suffering.
Yeah last night when she didn’t want to walk inside to roost I knew right away ome th inf was going to happen. At least she passed in a comfortable place. When my rooster saw her he screamed. I wasn’t expecting him to do that.
