I don't really know what to tell you--maybe try to put some eye drops in it to soothe it's eyes. Maybe he'll leave it alone if it's not so itchy and then it can heal. I have a sick chicken too and no one has responded so I thought I'd try to bump you up a little to help you out.

I would put eyedrops on it's eyes also. Use the saline solution intended for contact lenses. Regular eyedrops have preservatives in them, that can be harmfull. Give your chick water with electrolites in it, in order to give it a boost.

i gave him oral dosage of 2 drops of tylan 50 and after a week his eyes healed. i did have to remove some yellow junk from his eyes, though.

Could be aspergillosis, a fungal infection. Found this on the net:

The outbreaks were characterised by the formation of a yellow cheesy pellet beneath the nictitating membrane which caused the lids to bulge (Fig 14.2). There was some central ulceration of the cornea in the older chicks.
