If fire ants are a problem, it's might be best to get a brooder and raise them yourself. Otherwise, I would do what Jdywntr suggests.

Yes get hen and ducklings out of that nest fire ants will kill the babies and could probably kill the hen if she got enough bites. How is it going today?we took them out from under her because fire ants were running in and out of the eggs.

My Muscovy's managed to hatch out 2 ducklings out of 12 eggs and 9 live ducklings, and the ducklings are just learning to swim, although they start to panic if the mums walked away, so I put in ramps leading in and out of the water so they wouldn't get stuck.
