I am needing some advice. I am wondering if it is at all possible to move a couple chickens to free range about 100yds away from their current spot? My husband has a fig tree collection in our back yard and it is overrun by Mosquitos and other bugs. It seems like it would be a chicken paradise! Our coop is down over the hill out of eyeshot (100yds away). I would love to get a couple chickens in our backyard every now and then. Is there a wise and safe way to do this without causing confusion in the chickens?

You could try leading them there with food. Or, set up a temporary fence where you want them to be.

You migh just try standing over there and calling them. Once they realize its a good spot theyll travel to it on their own

They don't follow my voice. Is it a bad idea to put them in a kennel with food and water for a couple of hours and then open the door to let them free range?

Nope. If you're set up to do that, go for it. Chickens can be great tools for pest control, if you can figure out how to get them where you need them!
