help!!!! My banty is sick**update***

I don't know what is wrong she has her eyes closed standing but seems to be breathing a little heavier than normal. she hasnt layed in a while and yesterday i noticed that her back end was very dirty like she poop all over herself. Is she egg bound or just sick
she ate and drank yesterday and acted fine.

HELP Please!

I am giving her a warm bath her hiny is red and swollen

Well after two warm baths she started acting like she was pushing, I also stuck my finger with vaseline up the vent but did not feel anything. This must have done the trick because about half an hour later a soft shell egg plopped out.
She is now sleeping in a box next to me.
If it wasn't for all the threads about eggbound chickens on this sight, I would not have known what to do for her. So thats all!!

Bird lice will make their bottoms red and cause poopy butts.
Just one thing to check for.
I hope it isn't too serious.

KIM,

I know you'll take good care of her now that she's passed that egg. Sorry I didn't see your PM or this post until today - was busy keeping an eye on our male kitty Jackson who wants to roam... By the way the girls are getting angel hair pasta and veggies in a few minutes. I just put the finishing touches on it... Henrietta repeatedly has walked up the steps to the deck to hang out with us. Anthony has them pretty well trained... He's a real gent.
