I agree with the spaying. I was a CVT for many years...LOTS of unwanted cats. More than God's Will, its biology. An unspayed cat will go out of her way to get pregnant and an unneutered cat will go out of his way to get to her. God isnt there ..otherwise he would help control the pet population.

Good luck with your cat, she will be okay. As a CVT, we usually tell be owners that they can be in labor (without pushing) for 12 to 24 hours. (Again, without active pushing, once pushing starts the kitten should come out promptly. If they dont, get her to a vets for a C-section)

The more you mess with her and keep checking her the longer it's likely to take. My barn cats always pick a hiding place to have their kittens and when I did have a house cat who had a couple of litters she went and hid to have them. Some of my cats pop them out 1,2,3....others take their sweet time.

Well she comes out from under the bed for water and lovin'. She is not excessively bleeding or anything and the contractions are not regular anymore, but she is still having them. I will give her until tommorrow with lots of support, then figure out what to do.

BTW I know there are lots of unwanted cats. In my neighborhood I am the house that gets to feed all of them. Most of them won't even let me pet them but my DH and I always make sure they are fed and watered. ANd yes we will be getting Kitty spayed, we had a cat before who was spayed but passed away and I haven't had the $$$ to get her done.

Just to let you know, Female cats that are nursing young kittens can and do get Pregnant, So you need to watch out for her trying to escape for alittle hankypanky

I certainly don't want to be the "bad" person here and I'm sure everything will be fine. But we had a kitten when we moved to our current location. She was only 8 mos. old, escaped during the move and got herself prego! So she ended up having a littler quite young. This was bad. She had a hard time delivering and only had one live kitten. The rest were taken by c-section. She lost 4. Just keep an eye on her and go with your gut feeling. Keep the area quiet for her too. Does she have a spot to have them? A box, laundry basket? How old is she?

My cats all came to be when they were going into labor. I would give them a box and they happily stayed there as long as I was with them. Give her a little time, hopefully you have a kitten by now. Sometimes they get scared when the pain comes, and try to run away, make sure she stays and cares for the baby. Good Luck and have fun. And don't worry, if she came to you and wants you there, it won't make her slow the birth down.

This is me to a tee. I hate to see an animal going hungry so we feed them.

She is pretty young, I think she's just a little over a year. I am watching her but giving her space, when she comes out I give her loves, but other then that I am just waiting. I know there is a chance the kittens won't make it but I am just praying that she is fine. Money is tight right now and I don't have the extra to take her to the vet. Vet's around her want all the money up front. I have 7 kids sometime that's just not possible.

Our cat came to me almost like she was 'asking' for help. She didn't want me to leave her so I stayed with her through the whole ordeal and tried to comfort her as you would any female in labor, lol. I was kind of afraid she might bite me but she didn't. I had helped humans(i'm a nurse, btw) goats, cows, dogs, etc deliver but never a cat!
The first one was born dead, that made me sad. But then the other two came out fine. I just helped her tear open the membrane on one of the kittens. Oh, and did she ever HOWL when she was having those babies!!
