I went to take care of my chickens this morning when I seen a chick laying down, dead. It broke my heart! Nothing could harm them! i have them inside the coop where it's closed off. I went to see how the other chick's were doing and one seemed to just stand there and do nothing. I felt how cold he was and brought him inside. Immediately I put him and his other buddies under a heat lamp. Right now I am feeding him electrolyte water from a dropper and trying to get him warmed up. Whats happening? I never had a chick just lay down and die??!

Right now the chick has just perked up and pooped liquid which seems to have a reddish brown tint to it... What is this?? How can I help? Does anyone know what this is?

Also, if one or two chickens have it they all probably do, or will. So be sure to treat them all and clean up the bloody poop.

Ok, thanks! Is it fatal? And how do I use Corid? @littlefarmgirl9

Also he seems to be a little bit perked up now! Still sleepy but he tried to eat some food. I am also trying to feed him yogurt. should I?

Yogurt is okay..but get them on corid ASAP! Treat for cocci. Corid 20%> 1.5 teaspoon per gallon water @5 days follow with 1/3 teaspoon per gallon @7 days or 9.6 corid @2 teaspoon per gallon water and follow up with 1/2 TEASPOON per gallon.

NO VITAMINS DURING TREATMENT AS IT BLOCKS EFFECTIVENESS OF CORID. FOLLOW UP AFTER TREATMENT WITH NUTRI-DRENCH

Agree with cocci. Get that Corid. If they seem too sick to drink, you can give it directly in the mouths. Take 1/2 teaspoon Corid powder and add 9 ml water. Stir/shake well and give 0.07 ml per 100 grams of body weight (0.34ml per pound) orally. I would think at their weight they would only need a little bit.
