Help. My chick looks so terrible.

I have had this chick along with my others for about 2 weeks now almost 3. It is pecking on itself, won't stand very long. Eats and drinks normally. But now has a swollen butt and breathes weird. I don't know what it is.

What breed is it supposed to be? To me it looks like a big Cornish cross meat rooster. They grow quickly, which causes leg and heart problems.

Cornish Cross. They are bred for rapid growth and heavy size, not longevity.

I don't know, they were straight run from tractor supply. I think it is supposed to be a leghorn.

It's unfortunately a Cornish cross and won't be long lived.

Not a Leghorn. Leghorns are slim, slight built birds, usually a bit smaller than dual purpose breed chicks.

Looks like a cornish cross to me also. They are bred for nothing more than being a meat bird. I'm sorry you ended up with one.
