Help! My chicken can't walk or stand. She moves (seldom) by flapping wings. She passed liver-like

So far I have had 3 boys go through this sort of paralysis. The funny thing is they took quite a long time, but all are up walking again. On of my buff Sussex cockerels is still a little "drunk" the way he walks but seems really happy, and gets better all the time. He is a big boy though, so maybe that's why. The other 2 you can't even tell. I'm sorry for your loss. Get some little chicks and give your whole heart again. It will be healing, but you will never forget your favourite girl. You can honour her by loving others of her kind. My best wishes.

Well, we just went through this too & perhaps I can shed some light.
Our beloved 5 year old buff acted a bit confused on Wednesday (couldn't remember how to get in the coop), by Thursday a.m., couldn't stand at all.
Brought her indoors - still had a good appetite, but couldn't drink laying down, so syringe fed & watered her for the next four days (as others have mentioned, oatmeal, molasses, yogurt & baby food).
Took her to the vet yesterday, and sadly, had her euthanized. She had apparently thrown a blood clot that lodged in her right leg. The vet was able to diagnose this due to her right leg being very cold, the left one was normal temp. Probable heart condition and yes, there are meds that MIGHT break the clot up, but she'd have been on heart meds the rest of her life, with no guarantee of success or quality of life.

I am so very sorry for your loos. I too have lost too many without knowing what is wrong with them. I now have a buff orpington that I brought in and she has no symptoms but cannot walk. It's like her feet are getting paralyzed. I don't know what's wrong with her. Even my Aussie knows somethings wrong. He lays beside her and whines.

My chicken can't walk also. But she got better and went limp agin. So I have been feeding her in my barn, and she got better! She is still limping. I didn't give her any medications or take her to the vet. But Im so happy she is better!

I am sooo sorry to here about your girl. I also have a girl that can't walk. I am heart sick over this. I have been all over the web for a month searching for answers. I just read through this thread and I've been crying like a baby. My little girl's name is Sunshine. She is two. We raised her and her sisters from babies. All our girls free range and are feed organic. I try sooo hard to take good care of them and I clean their coop daily. I am always outside with them and very close to them all. But Sunshine is my girl.
We don't have a vet that takes chickens around here at all. I would have to put her down myself and I can't do that to her. She is just fine other than she can't walk and she doesn't want to drink hardly at all. She has never been one to drink a lot even though I have several waterers around the yard. But she is worse about the water now. Other than that she eats fine and she still talks to me and answers me when I say her name. She is very alert. I have her in a dog create in the house but I take her out for a few hours with me during the day.
I have noticed that when I soak her and cradle her in a warm Epson salt bath she seems to do a little better. But I'm unsure of how often bathing a chicken is good for them.
Has anyone ever tried a chicky detox? Sounds crazy I KNOW, but I'm desperate. I'm also giving her vitamins. I am very open to suggestions.
I pray I'm doing right by her. I can't give up.
