Help! my chicken keeps falling forward!

chicken is improving ! slowly but surely, i've been giving her baby vitamins called poly-vi-sol i got it a Walmart and she is just now starting to turn around, so it must have been a lack of riboflavin, or some other vit. , i don't want to jinx her but thought i would share :)

please let me know how she is doing now? I have the same problem and I cannot figure it out. so frustrating I love her to death. she is super healthy otherwise.

Hi my chicken didn't quite snap out of it and she passed away but I did get her walking again, I got her baby vitamins from WalMart and they worked really well, I also built her a sling that held her upright. I would put her in that for a half an hour and then let her rest I would also massage her legs to get the blood flowing she eventually started walking on her own but she didn't make it because she was perty run down from being so weak I hope this helps

Also make sure u get her to drink and eat wile she is in the upright position so that her crop keeps working right

Thank you for getting back . I'm so upset but doesn't look good for her . Could you chicken still dust bath and kick sand up all over herself? That's what I don't get .. she csn do that but can't stay standing ..

Yes she could, her legs were very strong and I could pull them in front of her but she would pull them back. it was definitely the weirdest thing I've ever had happen to a chicken, the baby vitamins had riboflavin in them and it really seemed to help. I was trying to figure out the cause of this and I really think it was these chicken vitamins I bought for them in tractor supply to put in there water because just a few days after I put it in there water she started falling forward. The chicken vitamins had alot of vitamin E in them and there are alot of articles about why vitamin E is bad for chickens

I haven't given mine vitamins at all but it's in their feed. It's weird because they say there is no reporter cares of it here or anywhere near so I'm just praying to god it's true . Did any of your other chickens get this?

Yes just one other chicken and it was only after I gave them the vitamins. with my chicken it was definatly not contagious because they were all in together at night and free ranged together during the day and only two chickens got it and I had 20 plus chickens at the time along with some elderly chickens and young chickens who I think would have gotten it if it was a contagious disease

Oh k good to know. I only have 7 chickens and 6 of them are very healthy. So far :( I bought colloidal silver and St. John's wart so I'll try that as I been reading that ppl have treated their chickens alike and they are totally fine now. Fingers crossed .
