hello, i found my chicken upside down hanging from some chicken wire in my coop, i was not the one that found her so i don't know exactly how she was hanging but when she was turned right side up she was lethargic and one of her eyes are closed. She has blood on the top of her head to her neck and her foot is ingered. I don’t know if her comb might have been bleeding from being upside down or if that can even happen. I’m going to separate her from the flock and keep her inside for now, Any feed back is appreciated Thankyou for reading

Poor thing. Her toe looks broken, so she may limp for awhile. Her blood eye and face looks to have been pecked or she struggled to get loose and could have scratched her face and comb. I would use a warm damp wash cloth to clean her eye and face. Just dab it. Use some Terramycin eye ointment, or plain Neosporin/triple antibiotic ointment in and around her eye. The blood will attract the others to peck her, so I would separate her in a wire dog crate with food and water overnight. Offer some sips of water and some egg or wet feed now if she is alert. Prop her on some rolled towels to make her comfortable. Let us know how she is doing a little later.

Thank you so much for your advice!, I put plain Neosporin on her eye and she’s in a separate area in my house for now. She seems to be doing ok, drinking lots water, I haven’t seen her eat yet though. She is standing up and walking but it’s not that long before she takes a sitting break.

Glad you found her in time- I had one strangle herself to death in electrified netting. Awful thing to happen.

It looks like she must have cut herself on the wire or just scratched herself in the struggle as Eggcessive suggested. I imagine that was pretty traumatizing for her so it could just be minor shock that’s holding her back from eating. I sometimes wet the food and dip their beaks to encourage them. She is probably just sitting down due to pain from the toe, but it’s good she’s able to walk around some. Sounds like she’s gonna be okay.
