Help!! My buff rooster's leg is warm and swollen and I don't know why!! All he does in lay in the coop and when he does stand he only stands on his good leg. What should I do? Please help!

This looks like frostbite, and she will probably lose the foot eventually (in 1-2 months.) I would spray it with BluKote or put iodine on it to dry it out and treat infection. Chickens can live alright losing one foot, and can learn to get around on a stub. Here is a thread with a similar problem: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/842760/frost-bitten-feet

Thank You for your help!! We are now bathing his foot in peroxide then warm epsom salt water then coating it in blu-kote. His other foot looks like the tips of his toes might have caught frost bite as well. Hoping we caught that foot in time!!

I agree with Eggcessive, it look like rather bad frostbite. He will probably lose the foot. Good luck with him!

Thank you...He is still with us and so is his foot...but I don't know how long he'll have it....Never dealt with frostbite before...we had SO much mud and muck in late Feb and March, the chicken yard was such a mess...poor guy, but he's learning to scratch for food in a new way since he really can't use that foot other than to stand...Thank you all for you inputs!
