help! my ducks beak ):

so i got two ducklings for my birthday
but one passed away from duck murder by a young child who my mom babysits ):
so today i went to get a new duck to keep the left duckling company
went to the same poultry farm they gave me a duck from the same group
to be expected he is scared of me, and extremely jumpy
but wierdly his beak is like very pale and it looks like it has a little red scratch on the top
what could this be from?
it looks sick like pale orangy purple beak
