I live out in the sticks. Mike was a barnyard mix and was a perfect gentleman for about a year and a half. I have a grandson I'm raising who was about 8 or 9 at the time who became fearful of Mike, and it's likely his behavior escalated Mike's aggression before I realized there was a problem. By the time I did and Mike attacked me, there was no going back. That’s unfortunate because they are just being roosters! They are wired to be this way, just like a bull or a dog, but fortunately there are less aggressive breeds which should be the ONLY ones being selected for a suburban flock.
There are many people that want and need an aggressive rooster to protect their flocks like a sheep dog. I gave one to a friend on a ranch and he only wanted a mean aggressive rooster for his large flock.
I have tamed very agressive roosters yes to a certain stage but not entirely
