HELP!! My gorgeous Sizzle! What is it??

I had the same problem when I bought Silkie chicks as my first chickens. All 5 turned out to be roosters. If your Silkie is 6 months old, I would say it's a hen. She is probably close to POL. All of my Silkie boys got huge (bigger than that) combs around 14 weeks, and started crowing within the week. Her head fluff looks girly to me, too. Don't give up hope yet.

Now why does the phrase "Madder than a wet hen" come to mind?

That was a bad day, She got into a sticky fly trap, so I washed her with olive oil - to try and get the sticky off. Then I had to wash her with regular soap - to get the oil off. She was not happy with me.

What about her comb? Does it look like my Sizzles? I'm holding out hope until she/it crows!!!

I think the combs on my girls were black.

Here is a picture of Bananna, one of the Silkie Roo's I had to get rid of last year. He is 14 weeks in the photo.

Now here she/he is today all dried out & girly-looking again... You can see now why it's hard to see unless she's soaked! uugghh
Beautiful blue fluff ball

The comb and wattles hiding under that fluff say boy. Those little streamer feathers in his crest also say boy.

He is a very pretty bird though.
