My hen who is usually afraid of me will not move. she didn't even appear to be breathing. My mom says she's gets up to eat, but when I tried to feed her mealworms (her favorite snack) she didn't even get up. I'm really worried she's acting odd. She finally moved her head BARELY. I just want to make sure s he's okay . Could it be pneumonia?? She hasn't been making any weird sounds, she's just acting weird. I think my mom said she thinks she is broody but she hasn't been laying as much? Whaat
I don't know I just want to make sure she ok

It may well be that she is broody. The signs are that they lay in the nest box in a trance. They pluck out their chest and belly feathers to have their skin be in direct contact with the eggs. Any egg set in front of them, they will place it underneath them. If you pick them up, some will peck you, but if you take them far away from the nest, they may just lie there for a few minutes and not move. Then they usually will walk with their tail feathers fanned in a V-shape, and cluck at every other chicken that is near. They may run directly back to the nest, or they may stop and take a few bites of food and sip some water, or go and take a quick dust bath. Then they go back to the same nest. If she doesn't have those signs, she might be ill.
