Hello. I rescued a chicken back in November that was left in the park by someone in a box. It didn't crow so I decided it was a girl and in January started to crow and it turned out to be a rooster. I've been keeping him in my garage and yard back and forth so it won't wake up the whole neighborhood but today I received the letters from the city complaining and telling to get rid of it otherwise a fine of up to $2000. I can't keep him any more.. I need to find a new home!!!! Please help!!!
PS. I live in the Bronx, NY

How long will they give you to re home him? Know anyone in the country that might know someone who can take him and give him a good home? We got 15 days here in New Orleans and found a man with a small farm that brought farm animals to schools for the kids to see, we did this with the help of my sister-in-law and a notice at her church, she actually knew the man who took our roo, so we know he is well cared for. Good luck. Would not use CL as in our area people still cock fight, although it's illegal. Hope you find a happy home for him and don't have to pay that fine!!

Thank you Ursuline Chick. It doesn't say how long time they give me to re home him. But it seems the first complain was 3/30, but i never got the letter till last night. So already a half month has passed. I am calling sanctuary places and also put in Facebook. I'm praying... :(

You could post on your state thread, and see if anyone there wants him. Where do you live? If you live near Utah, I know you could look on the KSL Classifieds and plenty of people there are willing to take roosters. I really hope you can find a home!

St Brigid is the paton Saint of chickens and chicken farmers. She may be able to help, some prayer never hurts. You will be in mine.

Unfortunately I live in the Bronx, no one in the area could take him since it's illegal...
